Company Description Launched in 2007 by Aloke Bajpai & Rajnish Kumar, ixigo (Le Travenues Technology Limited) is a technology company focused on empowering Indian travellers to plan, book and manage their trips across rail, air, buses and hotels. ixigo assists travellers in making smarter travel decisions by leveraging artificial intelligence. The ixigo, ConfirmTkt and AbhiBus apps allow travellers to book train tickets, flight tickets, bus tickets, hotels, and cabs, and provide travel utility tools and services developed using in-house proprietary algorithms and crowd-sourced information. As a Principal Engineer - Android, you will be involved in all aspects of development, playing a critical role in the design, planning, development, and deployment and helping develop best practices for future development. You will be part of a young and multicultural team that builds a cutting-edge travel consumer-facing product. Developing, releasing, and maintaining native Android Applications and overseeing mobile application development efforts Work on bug fixing and improving application performance. Optimising performance for the apps and keeping up to date on the latest industry trends in mobile technologies At least an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering ~5-7 years of experience at cutting-edge organizations or startups ~ Extensive experience in developing mobile apps using Android SDK, with proficiency in Core Java and design patterns ~ Experience with e-business/e-commerce applications and business environment is a must ~ Any experience with internet companies or the travel industry will be a plus Deep understanding of Android development SDK and strong problem-solving skills Deep understanding of Android SDK and Android architecture components . Strong programming skills in Kotlin and Core Java . Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose for modern UI development. Experience in Dagger 2 / Hilt for dependency injection. Solid grasp of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns . Strong knowledge of network interaction, debugging, concurrency, and multi-threading in Android. Experience in unit testing , instrumentation testing , and test-driven development (TDD). Understanding of complete app lifecycle — development, CI/CD pipelines, deployment, and maintenance. Familiarity with app security , performance optimization tools , and profilers . Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Bitrise. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong passion for programming.
