Job Description :
We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Engineering Manager to lead our web development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background as a Full Stack Web Developer and possess solid leadership abilities to manage and guide a team of web engineers. This role demands a deep understanding of web development technologies, best practices, and project management principles. As the Engineering Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end development of high-performance web applications, ensuring high-quality deliverables while mentoring and growing your team.
Responsibilities :
• Team Leadership : Lead and mentor a team of web developers, fostering an environment that encourages professional growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Technical Expertise : Leverage your full stack development experience to provide hands-on technical guidance, ensuring scalable, maintainable, and secure web applications. Set and enforce coding standards and best practices for the team.
• Project Management : Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of web development projects. Ensure that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met, while managing team workloads and identifying project risks.
• Collaboration : Work closely with designers, product managers, and other cross-functional teams to align web development projects with business goals and deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Full Stack Development : Drive the development and implementation of web applications, ensuring smooth integration between frontend and backend systems. Oversee the deployment and scaling of solutions across cloud infrastructure.
• Code Reviews & Quality Assurance : Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to development standards. Implement automated testing and quality assurance processes to ensure stability and performance.
• Technology Roadmap : Stay abreast of the latest web development technologies, tools, and frameworks. Evaluate new technologies and drive adoption to enhance the team’s productivity and the company’s web products.
• Performance Optimization : Ensure web applications are optimized for speed, responsiveness, and efficient resource usage across different browsers and devices.
• Team Development : Identify skills gaps within the team and invest in their development through mentorship, training programs, and performance feedback.
• Communication & Reporting : Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project progress, technical challenges, and key performance metrics.
Requirements :
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• Proven 7+ year experience as a Full Stack Web Developer focused on the backend.
• Proven 4+ years experience in a leadership or management role.
• Expertise in modern web technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS , and popular frameworks/libraries such as ReactJS, NextJS on the frontend, and Node.js, on the backend.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, as well as CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Strong understanding of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and best practices for web application security.
• Solid understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies and experience leading Agile teams.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and guide engineers to deliver high-quality web applications.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, especially in high-pressure situations with competing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills with a track record of collaborating across departments to achieve shared goals.
• Passion for web development and a commitment to staying updated with emerging web technologies and trends.
• Experience with DevOps practices , containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices architecture.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.
