AWS Lex SME

About Position:

We are looking for a dedicated Amazon Lex SME with hands-on experience in designing, configuring, and deploying conversational AI experiences using Amazon Lex V2. This role is central to a platform migration initiative and requires deep expertise in building scalable, production-grade Lex bots. The ideal candidate should be comfortable owning the full lifecycle of Lex bot development—from intent and slot design to deployment and testing.

What You'll Do:

• Defining intents, utterances, and slots
• Setting up multi-turn conversations
• Managing session attributes, context control, and fallback strategies
• Lead the migration of existing bots or workflows from other platforms into Lex V2, ensuring functional completeness and improved user experience.
• Configure Amazon Lex Knowledge Bases and manage dynamic document sources (e.g., S3, SharePoint, secure portals).
• Handle Lex bot versioning, aliasing, and promotion across environments (Dev, QA, Prod).
• Leverage Lex's native integrations with Lambda, Amazon Connect, and Cognito to deliver advanced conversational flows.
• Optimize language model performance using analytics and real-user feedback.
• Work closely with frontend, QA, and API teams to ensure successful Lex integration and functionality across platforms.
• Document design decisions, flow diagrams, and deployment processes for maintainability.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Extensive hands-on experience with Amazon Lex V2
• Custom intent and slot configuration
• Multi-turn conversations and context management
• Fallback and clarification handling
• Strong understanding of Lex console and API interfaces
• Experience integrating Lex with:
• AWS Lambda for dynamic responses
• Amazon Cognito for user authentication
• Amazon Connect for voice interactions
• Knowledge of REST APIs, API Gateway, and JSON payload handling
• Familiarity with Lex Knowledge Base setup
• Exposure to logging and monitoring via CloudWatch
• Awareness of security and access control for bot workflows
• Experience in chatbot deployment across web and mobile channels
• Understanding of LLM/GenAI services (e.g., Bedrock) is a plus
• Clear verbal and written communication
• Proactive ownership of deliverables
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
