General Manager (GM) – Analytical Lab & Sampling
Position Overview: The General Manager (GM) – Analytical Lab & Sampling is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all laboratory operations related to testing and sampling of precious metals (gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium, ruthenium, etc.). The GM ensures accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement in analytical testing, sampling methodologies, and equipment management
Key Responsibilities: 1. Laboratory Operations

• Oversee day-to-day lab activities, ensuring that all testing processes meet high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

• Ensure that precious metals testing—from trace elements in residues to high-purity metal samples—is conducted per industry standards.

• Monitor workflow and turnaround times, optimizing processes for faster and more reliable results.

• Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvements in operational efficiency
2. Sample Management & Handling

• Ensure accurate documentation, tracking, and traceability of all incoming and processed samples.
• Oversee sample storage, handling, and disposal, ensuring adherence to security, quality, and environmental standards.
3. Inventory & Equipment Management
Maintain a comprehensive inventory of laboratory consumables, reagents, and equipment, preventing shortages or delays.
• Ensure the maintenance, calibration, and servicing of critical testing instruments such as XRF, Spark OES, ICP-OES, and others.
4. Compliance & Accreditation Management
• Ensure that the laboratory meets and maintains accreditations from regulatory bodies like NABL (ISO 17025), BIS, LBMA, and LPPM.
• Drive audit readiness, ensuring all documentation is up to date for internal and external audits.
Required Skills and Qualifications: Education & Experience:
• Master's or Ph D in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 20+ years of experience in laboratory management, with 10+ years in leadership roles in precious metals testing.
• Extensive experience in handling analytical instruments such as XRF, Spark OES, ICP-OES.
• Strong understanding of ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and laboratory accreditation processes.
• Expertise in sampling techniques, quality assurance, and automation technologies.
• Experience managing internal and external audits for regulatory compliance.
