We excited to invite applications for a Product Development Engineer role for our client, a leading manufacturer of solar PV mounting systems.
Preferred Industry: Luxury Automobile companies or top tier Aviation companies
Responsibilities :
Innovate, conceive, design, engineer, and develop new products and/or improve existing products and document results in engineering and/or test reports.
Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as Solid Works, Auto CAD, Inventor or CATIA for creating 2 D and 3 D models.
Knowledge of engineering analysis and simulation tools like Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate designs.
Understanding of drafting standards and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) for creating detailed engineering drawings.
Strong understanding of engineering principles, including engineering mechanics, and material science, to ensure designs meet performance requirements.
Knowledge of the strength of materials, including stress analysis, fatigue, and fracture mechanics, to design components that withstand operational loads.
Understanding of various manufacturing processes such as extrusions, forging, casting, injection molding, and additive manufacturing (3 D printing).
Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, and efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Structural, Civil Industrial Engineering or similar required, Master of Science in Engineering preferred.
Overall, 7 years new product development experience preferred.
Innovative, think creatively, be hands-on and mechanically inclined.
Comfortable with hand tools and familiarity with machine tools (mill, lathe, saw, etc.) preferred.
