Primary responsibilities include designing and developing the software components that drive Allegion¿s multi-tier web environment. Seeking developers that have strong hands-on experience on WordPress Development.

Websites are built using WordPress VIP (WPVIP), built on a solid enterprise-grade foundation - WordPress VIP is the agile content platform that helps content teams move both faster and smarter to drive more growth. For the candidate to succeed in the role, the candidate must have:

  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into a scalable and secure WordPress solution architecture.
  • Design and implement custom WordPress themes and plugins, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Establishing and guiding the website¿s architecture based on industry best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle, including architecture reviews and code reviews.
  • Experience managing large media library.
  • Integrate WordPress with other systems and platforms, such as CRM systems, e-commerce platforms, payment gateways, and third-party APIs.
  • Optimize the performance of WordPress websites by implementing caching mechanisms, optimizing database queries, and leveraging content delivery networks (CDNs).
  • Ensure the security of WordPress websites by implementing best practices, such as securing user authentication, protecting against common vulnerabilities, and staying up to date with the latest security patches.
  • Design WordPress solutions that can handle high traffic loads and ensure high availability by implementing load balancing, caching, and other scalability techniques.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and provide solutions in a timely manner.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for WordPress solutions, including bug fixes, performance enhancements, and security updates.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, system requirements, and implementation guidelines.
  • Confidence developing in local WordPress environment and using CLI.
  • Familiarity with tools like GitHub, SVN, MySQL, xDebug, New Relic, etc.
  • Challenge status quo ¿ focus on innovation, identify areas of improvement, and take strategic approach while recommending solutions

Technical Skill Requirements:

  • 7-10 years¿ Experience in WordPress PHP development
  • 6+ years¿ Experience in developing themes/customizing plugins on WordPress Enterprise environment
  • 3-4 years¿ Experience in JS ¿ Vanilla, ES6, Polyfills
