Role Overview:
As the Fermentation Specialist, you will oversee microbial fermentation processes for enzyme production, which is crucial for our H₂O₂ synthesis platform. This role involves optimizing microbial cultures, scaling up fermentation processes, and ensuring consistent enzyme yield and quality, supporting our goal to develop an efficient and scalable biochemical production system.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and optimize fermentation protocols to produce high-quality enzymes for the cell-free H₂O₂ production process.
Scale microbial fermentation processes from lab to pilot scale, ensuring efficient and reproducible enzyme yields.
Conduct media optimization, fermentation parameter tuning, and growth condition adjustments for maximum enzyme production.
Work closely with the Biochemist and Process Engineer to align on enzyme quality and quantity requirements.
Implement quality control measures to monitor fermentation consistency, yield, and purity.
Maintain and troubleshoot bioreactors and other fermentation equipment, ensuring optimal operational performance.
Record and analyze fermentation data, identifying trends and areas for further process optimization.
Stay updated on advancements in fermentation technology and techniques to continually enhance process efficiency.
Software Skills:
Proficiency with fermentation and bioprocess control software, such as BioXpert, Sartorius Biostat, or DeltaV.
Familiarity with data analysis tools like R, Python, or Excel to analyze and interpret fermentation data.
Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is a plus.
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Microbiology, Bioprocess Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field with a focus on microbial fermentation.
Strong hands-on experience with microbial fermentation, media optimization, and scale-up processes.
In-depth understanding of bioreactor operations, fermentation kinetics, and microbial physiology.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize fermentation processes for industrial applications.
Excellent analytical skills for process monitoring, data analysis, and problem-solving.
Strong organizational and documentation skills for recording process data and ensuring traceability.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in enzyme production or fermentation processes related to biochemical synthesis.
Familiarity with sustainable and green chemistry practices.
Knowledge of downstream processing techniques, such as enzyme purification, is a plus.
