Job Overview:
We are seeking a Linux Network Administrator to manage and maintain the network infrastructure and Linux-based systems for our organization. This role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing the performance of servers, networks, and security systems to ensure seamless operations. The candidate should have a strong understanding of Linux networking and basic shell scripting to automate tasks and generate alerts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Linux-based systems (Ubuntu) and network infrastructure.
- Configure and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and VPN networks.
- Monitor and analyze network traffic, manage firewalls, and configure IP whitelisting/blacklisting.
- Set up and manage network servers, file systems, and access controls.
- Perform regular security checks, including patch management and intrusion detection.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using Linux shell scripting.
- Implement backup, recovery, and failover processes for critical systems.
- Upgrade network hardware, systems, and software to meet organizational needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Linux system administration and shell scripting.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and network security practices.
- Experience with firewall configuration, IP tables, and intrusion detection systems.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting utilities (Wireshark, Nagios, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of AWS and cloud-based networking.
- Skills in hardware and software troubleshooting for Linux environments.
- Understanding of patch management and data recovery processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications like RHCE, CCNA, or similar are an advantage.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and network automation tools.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python for network automation.
