About The Role
We are looking for a Robot Software Engineer 1. You’ll be part of our Robotics team and collaborate closely with our global team as we build our autonomous robot platform.
What you’ll be doing
Develop and implement complex behaviors for mobile robots: Utilize your expertise in ROS. C/C++, and mobile robotics to design and implement advanced behaviors for autonomous mobile robots. This includes decision-making, state machines, and task planning.
Utilize ROS/ROS2 for software development and integration, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet system requirements.
Design, implement and optimize efficient algorithms for real-time performance and deploying the stack in the production environment to ensure their scalability for different hardware platforms.
Integrate sensors such as cameras, LIDAR, and IMU, and calibrate them for accurate perception, navigation and localization.
Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality and performance in real-world scenarios.
Build, configure, analyze, evaluate, and test robots and monitor the use of the system and optimize their functionality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including machine learning, hardware and researchers to integrate navigation and other capabilities into our robotic systems.
Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality and performance in real-world scenarios.
Adhere to coding standards and best practices for high-quality code.
Documenting comprehensive details of the setup processes.
Demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team with the ability to present technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Eager to take initiative and acquire new skills.
Your Background/ Skills
2 years of industrial experience in the robotics industry
Proficient in modern software development using C++, familiarity with design pattern is a plus
familiarity with ROS/ROS2, docker, git etc
Hands-on experience with robotic platforms and frameworks, such as ROS/ROS2, Gazebo.
Background in the mathematical understanding of autonomous robotic systems and familiarity with path planning algorithms, localization, mapping, finite state machines.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and troubleshoot software and hardware components with little supervision in a timely manner and interpret test results.
Knowledge of software and hardware testing and validation methodologies to ensure the functionality and performance of developed solutions.
Ability to function independently and as part of a team when needed.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
