Together, we aim to build a responsible energy future in an industry that is transforming the global landscape.About the Role:The Senior Project Manager – Solar PV Power Plants will take full ownership of the end-to-end execution of large-scale solar PV projects (typically 30 MW – 200 MW+) including Utility-Scale and/or C&I portfolios. This role is responsible for project planning, stakeholder coordination, cost control, quality management, risk mitigation, safety compliance, timely commissioning, and handover to O&M .With 10–12 years of industry experience, the individual is expected to lead large, cross-functional teams, manage multiple contractors, resolve complex interfaces, and act as a primary contact for Client, DISCOM, Consultants, and Senior Management.What We’re Looking For:We seek a proactive, technically strong professional who can act as the custodian of quality for the organization’s solar assets. The ideal candidate should combine deep technical understanding of solar components and systems with a practical, on-ground approach to quality assurance and risk management. They should be comfortable working across functions—engineering, procurement, construction, and operations—and confident in dealing with vendors, EPCs, and certification agencies. A strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering best-in-class project standards are essential qualities for success in this role.Key Responsibilities1. Planning & SchedulingReview and finalize:Master Project ScheduleProcurement PlanResource Deployment PlanConstruction SequenceMonitor critical path using Zoho Projects / MS Project / PrimaveraConduct weekly/monthly review meetings and implement recovery plans3. Client & Stakeholder ManagementAct as the single point of contact for:Owner’s Engineer / Investor / ClientUtility / DISCOM / SLDC / CEIGExternal auditors & ConsultantsLead progress review meetings and manage expectationsHandle variation orders, claims and contract change management4. Construction & Site ManagementOversee:Civil works (roads, foundations, drainage, control rooms)MMS / Tracker installationMechanical & electrical installation (modules, inverters, transformers)Pooling substation / Switchyard (33kV – 220kV)Transmission line works where applicableMonitor productivity, quality, safety & subcontractor performance5. Procurement & Vendor ControlCoordinate with SCM for procurement of:Modules, inverters, transformers, MMS, cables, SCADA, etc.Approve vendor selections along with procurement teamMonitor manufacturing, inspections, dispatch & delivery schedulesMitigate impact of delays or shortages6. Financial & Commercial ControlTrack project cost vs budget (BOQ vs Actuals)Control variations & evaluate contractor billsDrive cost optimization without impacting qualitySupport Lender’s Engineer & financial closure compliance7. Reporting & GovernanceProvide:Weekly progress reportsMonthly MIS & management dashboardsRisk & mitigation reportsReport directly to leadership on:Progress, Risks, Budget, Manpower, SafetyTechnical CompetencyStrong experience in:Utility-scale solar (30 MW to 200+ MW)C&I / Captive / Group Captive / Open Access projectsStrong understanding of:Evacuation systems (33kV / 66kV / 132kV / 220kV)Protection schemes, SCADA, weather stationsTracker vs fixed-tilt systemsHands-on knowledge of:SLDs, Load Flow, Protection Studies, LayoutsPerformance Ratio optimizationGrid compliance & interconnection studiesKey Tools & SoftwareZoho Projects / MS Project / Primavera P6Advanced Excel & MIS dashboardsAutoCAD (reading & redlining)SCADA / Power Monitoring SystemsQualifications & Experience:B.E / B.Tech in Electrical / Mechanical / Civil Engineering10–12 years in Solar EPC / IPP / Renewable Energy industryMinimum 2–3 utility projects above 50 MW or multi-site C&I portfoliosPMP / PRINCE2 / PMI-ACP – PreferredProven experience in vendor audits, FAT/PDI inspections , and EPC quality supervision .In-depth understanding of PV modules, inverters, transformers, MMS, and balance-of-system components .Familiarity with ISO 9001, IEC, IS standards , and MNRE/CEA regulations .Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.Willingness to travel to project and manufacturing sites as required.Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the key responsibilities and requirements associated with the role.
