Supported by our editorial and development teams, the right candidate will be tasked with increasing organic (Search, Discover, and News) and referral (feeds and syndication) traffic via on-page enhancements.
You will both create new designs and evaluate website layout updates alongside our editorial and development teams.
Job Summary: EDEX LIVE is seeking a highly skilled and experienced SEO Specialist to join our digital team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SEO strategy, particularly within the web news publishing industry .
You will be responsible for optimizing content, improving search engine rankings, and driving organic traffic to our platform.
This role is crucial in ensuring our content reaches the widest possible audience.
Key Responsibilities: SEO Strategy & Implementation: Develop and execute effective SEO strategies tailored to the needs of a digital news platform.
Content Optimization: Work closely with the editorial team to optimize news articles, features, and other content for search engines, ensuring high visibility and traffic.
Keyword Research: Conduct in-depth keyword research to identify high-impact keywords and trends within the news industry.
On-Page & Off-Page SEO: Manage all aspects of on-page and off-page SEO, including meta tags, URL structures, internal linking, and backlink strategies.
Technical SEO: Collaborate with web developers to ensure the site is optimized for search engine crawling, indexing, and ranking.
Performance Monitoring: Use SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs) to monitor site performance, track rankings, and provide regular reports on SEO metrics.
Competitor Analysis: Analyze competitors' SEO strategies and develop counter-strategies to improve EDEX LIVE's competitive position.
Algorithm Updates: Stay updated on the latest search engine algorithms and ensure that EDEX LIVE's SEO practices remain compliant and effective.
Collaboration: Work with the marketing, social media, and editorial teams to ensure a cohesive approach to driving traffic and engagement.
The ideal candidate will be: · Fluent in English · Comfortable working alongside editorial and development teams · Experienced in working on sites with 1 M+ pageviews/month · Publisher experience is a plus, but not required · Highly experienced in Google Search Console and Analytics · Experienced in working within an SEO management platform (Semrush, Moz, or Ahrefs)· Up to date on the latest methods to win Discover and News traffic · Have a deep understanding of website crawling, indexing, and rendering · Supporting writers and editors to increase the reach of their articles · Implementing SEO enhancements to article templates, section pages, live coverage, event pages, and special sections · Keyword and topic research A result-driven SEO executive who would be responsible for developing optimized web content .
Working closely with the Editorial team to achieve SEO objectives, measuring the success of SEO and ROI, Assisting with the maintenance of the website's architecture to ensure user-friendliness.
Updated Google guidelines and best practices.
Strong analytics skills with Google Analytics to identify and analyse user behaviour.
Working knowledge of Google Analytics.
Thorough understanding of web design and site structures.
Good knowledge of backlink analysis.
SEO executive should have an outstanding understanding of Search Engine Optimisation Conducting on-site and off-site analysis of web SEO competition.
Using Google Analytics to conduct performance reports regularly.
Creating high-quality SEO content.
Assisting with blog content.
Led keyword research and optimization of content.
Keeping up-to-date with developments in SEM.
Research and analyse competitor backlinks and form a plan of action to develop link-building strategies.
Develop SEO dashboard with traffic monitoring and performance of tests and reports.
Analyse, implement and optimize on-page elements across all pages to ensure a best-in-class landing page experience for users.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
Experience: 3-8 years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably within the web news publishing or digital media industry.
Skills: Strong understanding of SEO best practices and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs).
Proven track record of increasing organic search traffic and improving SERP rankings.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and content management systems (CMS) like Word Press.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Knowledge of coding techniques Commitment to constantly improving key skills.
