Engineer -Design/Assessment of Bridges

Your role- Perform structural design and assessment of bridges using established methodologies and tools.- Detail steel and concrete bridge structures and coordinate with the CAD team.- Prepare and review assessment documentation, including Form AA and BA reports.- Conduct load capacity evaluations and identify sub-standard structures.- Collaborate with senior engineers and project teams to recommend mitigation strategies.- Coordinate with external consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery.- Maintain asset data and contribute to continuous improvement of assessment processes.- Support development of interim solutions and long-term asset strategies.- Participate in design coordination and interface management with other disciplines.- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.- Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.- Experience with railway infrastructure projects.- Knowledge of materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and composite structures.- Familiarity with international design standards.About you- Experience in civil or structural engineering, with a focus on bridge assessments.- Strong understanding of structural analysis and assessment techniques.- Familiarity with Network Rail standards and asset management systems.- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., MIDAS, LUSAS, AutoCAD, Excel).- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.- Proactive and collaborative team player.- Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
