Your role - Perform structural design and assessment of bridges using established methodologies and tools. - Detail steel and concrete bridge structures and coordinate with the CAD team. - Prepare and review assessment documentation, including Form AA and BA reports. - Conduct load capacity evaluations and identify sub-standard structures. - Collaborate with senior engineers and project teams to recommend mitigation strategies. - Coordinate with external consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery. - Maintain asset data and contribute to continuous improvement of assessment processes. - Support development of interim solutions and long-term asset strategies. - Participate in design coordination and interface management with other disciplines. - Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. - Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status. - Experience with railway infrastructure projects. - Knowledge of materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and composite structures. - Familiarity with international design standards. About you - Experience in civil or structural engineering, with a focus on bridge assessments. - Strong understanding of structural analysis and assessment techniques. - Familiarity with Network Rail standards and asset management systems. - Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., MIDAS, LUSAS, AutoCAD, Excel). - Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. - Excellent communication and report-writing skills. - Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills. - Proactive and collaborative team player. - Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
