Principal Quality Engineer Provide technical leadership and strategic direction to the Quality Engineering (QE) organization. Design and build new generation testing frameworks for enterprise grade distributed applications. Evaluate and provide recommendations on different tools and technologies for frontend, middleware, and backend applications. Develop Quality Engineering strategies and standards, including KPI’s and Metrics for regression and performance testing for development teams. Coach product teams in implementing QA and QE practices in a SAFe Agile environment. Collaborate with Platform teams to ensure tools required for testing conform to standards and help implement new solutions as required. Devise QE solutions for CI/CD pipelines in public cloud or hybrid infrastructures. Understand application architectures and recommend solutions for end-to-end testing. Engage with other QE staff to deliver high quality testing solutions across the organization. Collaborate with QE tools architects/engineers to resolve issues and recommend improvements. Conduct POC projects on emerging QE technologies and drive them towards adoption in the organization. Quality Engineering Strategies, Test Strategies, Test Implementation Plans, Jira Initiatives, Epics and User Stories, presentations to Senior Management, and Marriott internal deliverables Quality Leadership: Communicates opportunities to improve quality to leadership Assists in setting best practice quality procedures Reviews and edits product documentation Establishes the flow of work within the quality area including code reviews Provides leadership and support to quality inspections Creates best practice quality procedures Performs complex quantitative and qualitative analyses for delivering automated testing processes and tools Enabling tooling such as Tosca, NeoLoad, Cucumber, etc. Coordinates with Operations and Infrastructure teams for deployment and production support activities Design and execute end-to-end automated test scenarios using Tricentis Tosca, ensuring comprehensive coverage of business workflows Managing Projects and Policies: Prepares testing schedules and documents expected results Assists in the scheduling and maintenance of lower environments Participates in the identification and monitoring of risks and issues Skills and Experience: 8+ years of IT leadership experience with a blend of deep technical knowledge and a customer-focused mindset ~ Experience in software development, test engineering, with expert-level expertise in multiple testing methodologies ~ Experience engaging highly technical architecture, engineering and operations teams and driving outcomes with QE automation ~ Able to guide the implementation of BDD, TDD and related approaches to software development ~ Experience with Test Automation and DevSecOps tools (e.g., Undergraduate degree in an engineering or computer science discipline and/or equivalent experience/certification Demonstrated success leading medium- to large-scale initiatives/transformations. Proven knowledge of Agile methodology (preferably SAFe Agile). Experience with mixed and offshore delivery models. Experienced in maintaining reusable test assets and integrating Tosca with CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality validation. Experience with Ready Api, Selenium or Playwright.
