Role: Software PLC controls Automation EngineerLocation: RemoteJob Description:We are seeking a Software Controls Engineer for a leading medical device company. This role is a 75% .NET development position combined with 25% controls, manufacturing, and PLC experience. Candidates without manufacturing experience will not be considered.Key Requirements:.NET Development (WPF required)Manufacturing/Controls/PLC ExperienceAbility to commute daily to Maple Grove, MNDisqualifiers:No manufacturing experienceOnly web development experienceInability to work on-siteAbout the Role:As a Software Controls Engineer, you will be part of an innovative team designing custom automation solutions for R&D, process development, and manufacturing at Boston Scientific. You will leverage your expertise in automation, controls, and software engineering to develop and support cutting-edge manufacturing equipment and processes.Responsibilities:Support automation and equipment design for new and sustaining manufacturing initiativesDevelop electrical/software solutions involving motion controllers, sensors, pneumatics, HMIs, and safety devicesEnsure compliance with FDA/QSR software requirementsTroubleshoot and optimize automated equipment performanceTrain and support operators for effective equipment useQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering (or equivalent experience)8-15 years of related engineering experienceStrong Microsoft .NET (C#, VB.NET, WPF) development skillsExperience with PC-based machine controlPreferred Skills:Experience with PLC programming, industrial automation, and motion controlKnowledge of Aerotech A3200 or Automation 1 drives and controllersBackground in integrating off-the-shelf components into custom solutionsPrior experience in a manufacturing environment
