Role: Software PLC controls Automation Engineer Location: Remote Job Description: We are seeking a Software Controls Engineer for a leading medical device company. This role is a 75% .NET development position combined with 25% controls, manufacturing, and PLC experience. Candidates without manufacturing experience will not be considered. Key Requirements: .NET Development (WPF required) Manufacturing/Controls/PLC Experience Ability to commute daily to Maple Grove, MN Disqualifiers: No manufacturing experience Only web development experience Inability to work on-site About the Role: As a Software Controls Engineer, you will be part of an innovative team designing custom automation solutions for R&D, process development, and manufacturing at Boston Scientific. You will leverage your expertise in automation, controls, and software engineering to develop and support cutting-edge manufacturing equipment and processes. Responsibilities: Support automation and equipment design for new and sustaining manufacturing initiatives Develop electrical/software solutions involving motion controllers, sensors, pneumatics, HMIs, and safety devices Ensure compliance with FDA/QSR software requirements Troubleshoot and optimize automated equipment performance Train and support operators for effective equipment use Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering (or equivalent experience) 8-15 years of related engineering experience Strong Microsoft .NET (C#, VB.NET, WPF) development skills Experience with PC-based machine control Preferred Skills: Experience with PLC programming, industrial automation, and motion control Knowledge of Aerotech A3200 or Automation 1 drives and controllers Background in integrating off-the-shelf components into custom solutions Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
