Purchasing Manager Job Responsibilities:Managing project and engineering items related procurementReview requests for proposals (RFxs) and manage procurement cycle in tandem with the technical departmentReview and negotiate contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and suppliersEvaluating bids and making recommendations based on technical and commercial factors.Coordination with vendors and expediting items per engineering department’s needsDefine Procurement strategyDeveloping new suppliers and evaluate existing vendors to meet company goalsTrain new employees and support team members as necessaryManage inventoryPreparing cost estimates and managing budgets.Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliersCollect and analyze data to ensure the company is making the best decisionsManaging daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.Regular reporting to the project team and Management on procurement timeframes and spends.Working to improve inventory and purchasing systems and processes.Processing Payments and Invoice.Purchasing Manager Requirements:Minimum BTech in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical EngineeringAdditional certification/degree related to Purchasing, Material Management or Supply Chain Management desirable.Minimum experience of 15 years in Engineering ProcurementExperience in Chemical Industry desirableProficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP-MM module.Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.Supervisory and management experience.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.Strong planning and organizational skills.Ability to work independently.Able to travel to meet with suppliers and work overtime as required
