Job Title: Bioinformatics Data Curation Specialist

Description: We are seeking a skilled professional to conduct searches in public genomic databases, distinguish different functional genomics technologies and biological experimental methodologies, and optimize database structure for smooth information flow.

  • Conduct comprehensive searches in public genomic databases such as GEO, CellXGene, and HumanCell Atlas.
  • Identify and match the company's needs with different functional genomics technologies and biological experimental methodologies.
  • Understand dataset qualifications and enter matching datasets to the database accurately.
  • Validate and cross-check new datasets to avoid duplicates or problems.
  • Optimize database structure to ensure seamless information flow.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D graduate in computational biology, bioinformatics, single-cell biology, genomics, immunology, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong technical focus and knowledge of genomics, molecular biology, and technologies such as qPCR and next-generation sequencing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in large-scale transcriptomics data analysis, especially scRNA-seq.
  • Experience identifying outliers for gene expression and splicing from RNA-seq data.
  • Experience working with relevant genomic databases and browsers, including their annotations.
  • Proficiency in Git operations, coding and visualization skills using Python or R, and data wrangling using pandas or tidyverse.
  • Skilled in Linux command-line interface (CLI) operations and have strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and consistency in delivering reliable results.
