Job Summary:

As a Cost Manager, you will play a critical role in the financial success of our organization by overseeing project budgets, managing costs, and ensuring accurate reporting.

About the Role:

Our ideal candidate has significant experience in cost accounting, time tracking, and resource management. They will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project budgets in collaboration with project managers.

  • Track actual project costs versus budgets, particularly staff time allocation and related expenses.
  • Identify variances, trends, and potential overruns; propose corrective actions proactively.

Responsibilities:

Project Budget Management:

  • Develop, monitor, and control project budgets in collaboration with project managers.
  • Collaborate with HR and project leads to track man-hours and ensure efficient resource usage.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly project cost reports with variance analysis and commentary.

Resource Utilization:

  • Maintain real-time visibility of staff deployment across projects.
  • Support project scheduling with cost-efficiency insights.

Cost Reporting & Forecasting:

  • Provide cost insights to senior leadership for resource planning and profitability analysis.
  • Conduct cost audits and internal reviews to validate expense accuracy.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Act as a liaison between the finance team and project managers.
  • Champion strong internal controls and promote financial discipline within project teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 8–10 years of experience in cost control, preferably in a project-based or consulting environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Business acumen with a focus on cost efficiency.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Excel.
  • Experience with ERP/project management tools.
