Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our team. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and maintaining general ledgers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Development Accounting
  • Preliminary Review: Prepare and review financial statements for development projects.
  • Maintenance: Maintain general ledgers and ensure accurate monthly and year-end closing.
  • Draw Accounting: Handle draw accounting, including preparation and tracking of draw requests.
  • Payables & Cash Management
  • Process Payables: Process and approve payables, wire requests, and ensure timely disbursements.
  • Aging Reports: Run aging reports, monitor outstanding payables, and follow up with vendors.
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Invoice Processing: Process invoices, review supporting documentation, and ensure proper coding and approvals.
  • Vendor Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • AR Follow-up: Follow up with vendors for outstanding balances.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Rent Collection: Record rent and other receivables accurately and on time.
  • Tenant Ledger: Monitor tenant ledgers, reconcile payments, and follow up on overdue balances.
  • Delinquency Reduction: Generate AR aging reports and work with property managers to reduce delinquencies.
  • Operational Support
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with U.S. cross-functional teams to address accounting queries.
  • Insight Provision: Provide insights and support for property-related decision-making.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience in U.S. property management (development focus preferred).
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Yardi.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Knowledge Areas: Development accounting, draw accounting, financial statements, wire transfers, payables, and payroll processing.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail, effective communication skills to collaborate with U.S. stakeholders.
