US Taxation- Financial Services Specialist

As a US Taxation- Financial Services Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert tax guidance to our financial services clients.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conducting thorough reviews of complex tax returns, focusing on hedge funds, private equity, and fund of funds, blocker corporations, and S-corporations.
  • Reviewing state tax returns for our financial services clients.
  • Identifying international filing requirements through organizational chart studies and reviewing international tax returns.
  • Training new joiners on various concepts and technology, as well as providing timely feedback on each project reviewed.
  • Supervising kick-off calls to understand client needs, regular connects with US counterparts, intervening in budget conflicts, resource scheduling conflicts, etc.
  • Guiding staff/senior team members on potential tax adjustments due to tax law changes and e-filing validations.
  • Mentoring the team towards achieving organizational goals.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to conduct independent tax research for unseen tax scenarios.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

  • Quick learner, enthusiastic, positive demeanor and a team player
  • Able to work long hours during busy season times.
  • Able to meet deadlines and work based on urgency.
  • Good at multi-tasking and handling various projects simultaneously
  • Ability to train and supervise staff efficiently
  • Guidance on technical problems faced by subordinates.
  • Able to build working relationships with peers, supervisors, and U.S. colleagues.
