Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Role

This position is ideal for a skilled cloud infrastructure engineer who can contribute to the design, deployment, and maintenance of highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing efficient and cost-effective solutions on GCP, collaborating with cross-functional teams to architect and implement secure, efficient, and cost-effective solutions, and developing and enforcing best practices for infrastructure as code, configuration management, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy highly available and scalable GCP infrastructure to support applications and services.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and operations teams to architect and implement secure, efficient, and cost-effective solutions on GCP.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for infrastructure as code, configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot GCP infrastructure performance, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Implement security measures and best practices to protect data and infrastructure, including identity and access management, network security, and data encryption.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and ensure seamless integration with GCP services.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP technologies, trends, and best practices, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with ForgeRock/Ping IAM products (AM, IDM, IG, DS).
  • Deep understanding of IAM architecture, integration methods, REST APIs, and directory services.
  • Experience in Java development, Spring Boot, scripting, and secure coding standards.
  • Proven experience deploying, managing, and scaling applications in Kubernetes environments, particularly Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
  • Exposure to DevOps, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Good understanding of Authentication, Authorization, MFA, SSO, Federation, OAuth, OIDC, Provisioning, Reconciliation, Proxy, and Directory Services concepts.
  • Knowledge of AD, LDAP, Database integration.
  • Java development experience for customisations and enhancements of IAM systems, including writing secure, maintainable code to support authentication and authorisation workflows.
  • Knowledge of IAM solutions in Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and how IAM integrates within those platforms.
  • Experience with API security and integration using JSON, REST, and web services.
