At Talent Steer Partners, we are seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer to oversee our procurement and manage it in an efficient and organized manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of solar equipment and components, particularly inverters, and will be proficient in procurement processes, negotiation techniques, and rate analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors for solar equipment and components.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts and pricing terms.
  • Provide expertise in raw material (RM) procurement and ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Source and procure high-quality inverters, cables, electrical components, and other equipment.
  • Conduct rate analysis of different components and ensure competitive procurement rates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless procurement processes.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs and improve overall efficiency.
  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement process by monitoring vendor performance and delivery schedules.
  • Participate in technical evaluation of vendors and assist in selecting the most suitable suppliers.
  • Coordinate with the logistics team for timely delivery and ensure smooth inventory management.
  • Handle documentation and maintain accurate records of procurement activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in solar procurement or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of solar equipment and components, particularly inverters.
  • Hands-on experience in procurement of electrical components (inverters, wireless switches, etc.).
  • Proficient in procurement processes, negotiation techniques, and rate analysis.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with solar EPC processes and industry standards.
