Job Title: Cloud Database Administrator

Azure Lead MS-SQL DBA is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment.

  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications
  • Provision, configure, and manage Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines
  • Design, implement, and monitor HA/DR strategies such as Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and failover groups to ensure business continuity and data resilience
  • Plan and execute robust backup and restore operations, validate recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)

Mandatory Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience working on Azure MS-SQL database
  • Lead Admin experience with managing single point of contacts for all Azure and on-prem MS-SQL Database and Cloud Admin activities
  • Hands-on experience with designing and architecture of Public cloud such as Oracle OCI or Azure
  • Experience with SQL server Upgrade and Migration to Azure
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL)

Responsibilities:

  • Support the lifecycle management of business critical applications
  • Support the development and production environments of business critical applications
  • Ensure application availability and respond to application emergencies

Requirements:

  • Experience with Azure cloud platform services
  • Experience with SQL server Upgrade and Migration to Azure
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL)
