About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping next-generation financial data architecture. As a key member of our team, you will leverage cutting-edge technologies like Snowflake and dbt to build scalable, trusted, and cost-optimized financial data solutions.

This is a highly visible opportunity to lead the modernization of our finance data platform, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and scalability for a rapidly evolving business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect & Lead Data Warehouse Solutions: Drive design and implementation of enterprise-grade data warehouse solutions in Snowflake, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance for finance and accounting use cases.
  • Own Data Modeling with dbt: Lead adoption and best practices in dbt for financial data transformations, lineage, and governance.
  • Financial Systems Expertise: Translate complex accounting and financial concepts into technical designs and data flows.
  • Pipeline Development & Automation: Build and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake and dbt, integrating data from multiple enterprise and financial systems.
  • Data Integrity & Compliance: Ensure data accuracy, auditability, and compliance with financial reporting requirements and internal controls.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance across teams, raising the bar for engineering standards, code quality, and delivery practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's in engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 12-15 years of professional experience in data engineering or data platform roles, with strong emphasis on financial data systems.
  • 5+ years working with Snowflake (or equivalent MPP systems, with deep Snowflake exposure required).
  • 3+ years using dbt for data modeling, transformation, and governance in enterprise-scale environments.
  • Strong SQL expertise, with the ability to design efficient queries, stored procedures, and performance-tuned models.
