Job Description

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Product Development, you will be responsible for designing and developing new products, improving existing product lines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth production processes. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Designing and developing new products, including product design, prototyping, and testing;
  2. Improving existing product lines by identifying areas for optimization and implementing changes;
  3. Collaborating with production teams to ensure that designs are feasible and can be produced efficiently;
  4. Working with quality and service teams to identify design-related issues and develop solutions;
  5. Leading initiatives to resolve existing design issues within defined timelines;
  6. Coordinating with the Pune design team to ensure alignment between design and production requirements;
  7. Conducting root cause analysis for production/service issues and recommending corrective actions;
  8. Assisting in the design and modification of components and assemblies based on feedback from the production line.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as Solid Edge or AutoCAD;
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma is an advantage;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Work Environment

This role is based in the Goa factory with occasional travel to the Pune headquarters and job sites. You must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to travel as needed.

  1. Successful reduction of design issues and enhanced alignment between design and assembly processes;
  2. Measurable improvements in production efficiency and product quality;
  3. Timely resolution of design and manufacturing discrepancies.
