Embedded Systems Modelling Specialist

As Embedded Systems Modelling Specialist, you will lead the development and virtualization of sensor and actuator models for use in simulation environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop high-fidelity plant models of sensors and actuators using Simulink or equivalent tools to ensure accurate representation of real-world systems.
  • Architect models for seamless integration into VHiL, HiL, SiL, and CoSim environments to facilitate efficient testing and validation.
  • Define and maintain interface standards for model consumption across simulation platforms to promote interoperability.
  • Lead data collection efforts from physical devices to support model validation and performance characterization, ensuring accurate results.
  • Analyze diagnostic responses and performance metrics to refine model behavior, optimising its performance.
  • Define and execute test cases based on customer feedback and evolving model requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Ensure model robustness by incorporating vehicle calibration variations and real-world operating conditions, simulating real-world scenarios.
  • Manage model lifecycle including enhancements, release documentation, test coverage, and technical support, guaranteeing continuity.
  • Maintain traceability and version control across model updates, facilitating collaboration.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, hardware, controls, and diagnostics teams to gather and align requirements, promoting harmonisation.
  • Balance short-term and long-term modelling fidelity needs between in-house and supplier-based solutions, optimising costs and benefits.
  • Harmonise virtualisation requirements across vehicle and propulsion domains, ensuring consistency.
  • Define virtualisation requirements for modeling, hardware, controls, and supplier ecosystems, establishing clear guidelines.
  • Translate calibration differences into robust model design strategies, resolving potential conflicts.
