The role of a Site Reliability Engineer is to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of mission-critical systems. This involves collaborating closely with development and operations teams to build and maintain infrastructure, improve system reliability, and automate processes wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing and maintaining monitoring tools and dashboards for system health, performance, and capacity planning.
  • Developing and implementing automation for repetitive tasks, including deployments, scaling, and maintenance, to reduce manual intervention.
  • Responding to incidents, leading post-incident analysis, and driving efforts to prevent recurrences through detailed root cause analysis.
  • Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in infrastructure, databases, applications, and networking.
  • Collaborating with development teams to design systems that are highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and optimized for performance and cost.
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and improve delivery cycles.
  • Developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans, ensuring that systems are resilient and capable of fast recovery.
  • Monitoring and forecasting resource utilization and implementing cost-effective scaling strategies.
  • Ensuring that all systems meet or exceed security and compliance requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 3-6 years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps, or Infrastructure role.
  • Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (Python, NodeJS, Bash, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud platforms.
  • Proficiency with tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze complex systems, diagnose issues, and drive improvements.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, such as New relic, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog, or equivalent.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Code Pipeline, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or equivalent.
  • Version control experience with Git and adherence to version control best practices.
  • Containerization and orchestration experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • A strong understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, load balancing, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytic, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
