Job Description: Furniture Production Design Expert

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed production drawings and cutting lists for furniture items, while optimizing material usage and collaborating with design and production teams.

This role requires strong technical skills in CAD software and the ability to analyze and improve production processes.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Drawings Creation:
    • Develop detailed production drawings based on initial designs and specifications.
    • Incorporate all necessary technical details, dimensions, and assembly instructions into the drawings.
  • Cutting List Preparation:
    • Generate comprehensive cutting lists outlining materials needed for production, including dimensions and quantities.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure materials listed are available and suitable for intended designs.
  • Optimization of Material Usage:
    • Utilize software tools (e.g., panel optimization software) to create optimized cutting plans that minimize waste and maximize material efficiency.
    • Analyze and improve cutting plans based on production feedback and material availability.
  • Collaboration with Design and Production Teams:
    • Work closely with furniture designers and engineers to ensure feasibility of designs from a production standpoint.
    • Communicate effectively with production team to convey any changes or requirements for manufacturing process.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Review production drawings and cutting lists for accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Conduct periodic audits of production processes to ensure adherence to design specifications and optimize production techniques.
  • Software Proficiency:
    • Utilize CAD software to create and modify production drawings.
    • Stay updated with latest software tools for cutting list generation and optimization.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain organized documentation of production drawings, cutting lists, and project revisions for future reference and compliance.
    • Prepare reports on material usage, production efficiency, and any discrepancies encountered during production.
  • Problem Resolution:
    • Address issues arising during production process related to design, materials, or cutting optimization.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify solutions and implement changes as necessary.
