Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the underwriting team in India to approve deals for the US market.
  • Collaborate closely with the credit committee in New York to ensure seamless functioning of the credit function.
  • Ensure high-quality credit analysis, train and mentor the team to adhere to underwriting quality metrics.
  • Oversee daily underwriting pipelines and queues to guarantee timely movement, balanced workloads, and efficient resource allocation.
  • Provide guidance and resolve issues as the first point of contact for escalated or complex underwriting scenarios.
  • Support and mentor underwriters through day-to-day guidance, fostering development, and monitoring team performance.
  • Ensure underwriting decisions align with agency, investor, and company guidelines while supporting risk management and quality control initiatives.
  • Develop process enhancements in the credit function to improve analysis quality and turnaround times.
  • Interact with clients and stakeholders to gather feedback and mentor the team accordingly.
  • Collaborate with data science teams to embed AI and machine learning into our underwriting processes.
  • Work with trading teams to structure loans properly for warehouse lines and securitizations.
