Job Description:

Operational Excellence Leader

  • Coordinate key operational functions across Imports & Exports departments, driving workflow efficiency and resource management to ensure timely and accurate processes.
  • Ensure seamless cargo delivery to customers by identifying and mitigating potential delays.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory bodies such as USA & Canada Customs/IATA/TSA and other governing authorities.
  • Supervise shift managers and teams; regularly review KPIs and ensure team members meet expectations in quality, timelines, and communication.
  • Evaluate SOP adherence, task ownership gaps, communication quality, and process consistency to drive continuous improvement.
  • Resolve complex escalations and exceptions during shipment processing while providing operational troubleshooting support.
  • Deliver regular feedback, training, and development sessions to foster an operational thinking and ownership mindset within the team.
  • Identify inefficiencies or data integrity issues and propose targeted improvement plans, automation, smarter workflows, and enhanced controls.
  • Promote seamless collaboration with service providers to optimize operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with freight forwarding procedures and financials: TSA, CBP, IATA, FMC, BIS
  • Bachelor's degree in any field (commerce, international trade, logistics preferred)
  • 5+ years of industry experience required with a preference for freight forwarding
  • 2+ years of team management experience, including managing team leads or shift managers
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
  • Strong attention to detail, data integrity, and customer service mindset
  • Highly motivated and results-driven individual
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; customer-focused and business-savvy
  • Able to handle complex problems and multitask effectively
