Job Summary:This role involves guiding patients and their families through the financial aspects of their healthcare journey, ensuring timely collection of payments, and informing eligible patients about hospital-run or external financial assistance schemes.

About the Role:As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing patient financial guidance, insurance coordination, billing support, and financial assistance programs. You will work closely with patients, insurance providers, and internal committees to ensure seamless financial processes.

  • Patient Financial Guidance

    You will meet with patients and their attendants during admission or treatment planning to explain estimated costs, provide detailed breakdowns of packages, procedure costs, and expected out-of-pocket expenses, and guide them on payment schedules and required advance deposits.

  • Insurance & TPA Coordination

    You will verify insurance coverage, policy terms, and patient eligibility, facilitate pre-authorizations, approvals, and coordination with TPA or insurance providers, and keep patients informed about approvals, exclusions, and any shortfalls.

  • Billing Support

    You will collaborate with the billing team to ensure accurate patient billing, help clarify any billing queries raised by patients, and ensure timely collection of payments before discharge or procedure.

  • Financial Assistance Programs

    You will inform eligible patients about hospital-run or external financial assistance schemes, assist with the application process for payment plans, charity programs, or subsidies, and coordinate with internal committees or external sponsors when needed.

  • Documentation & Reporting

    You will maintain detailed records of financial counselling sessions, document consent from patients on estimates and cost-related discussions, and provide regular MIS and status reports to the finance or patient services team.



Qualifications & Experience:A graduate degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or Healthcare Management is preferred, while an MBA (Finance/Hospital Management) is also desirable. A minimum of 13 years of experience in healthcare finance, TPA coordination, or hospital billing is essential, with experience with health insurance processes being highly desirable.A strong understanding of hospital billing and insurance processes is necessary, along with excellent communication and counselling skills, empathy, and patience in dealing with patients under stress. Attention to detail and strong follow-up abilities are also required, along with proficiency in MS Office and hospital information systems (HIS/EMR), as well as knowledge of local healthcare regulations and TPA practices.
