Database Developer Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Database Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management systems, including relational and NoSQL databases, with expertise in PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and SQL Server.

This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can design, tune, and maintain databases to support high-performance applications.

The Database Developer will work closely with application developers, providing guidance and support to enhance data-driven projects.

  • Design and implement database schemas for stability, reliability, and performance.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to improve system efficiency and data retrieval.
  • Provide technical guidance and support on database design, query tuning, and best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews and SQL query tuning to enhance application performance.
  • Manage RDBMS and NoSQL databases, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Install, configure, and maintain database systems; apply upgrades and patches to maintain system integrity.
  • Develop and implement SQL patches and oversee data migrations to ensure data accuracy and availability.
  • Proactively recommend system improvements to increase database performance and reliability.
  • Prepare and present reports on database health and performance statistics to internal stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Mandatory skill sets:

  • Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong experience in PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and SQL Server.
  • Ability to provide guidance and support to application developers.
  • Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning.
  • Install, tune, implement, and upgrade DBMS installations.
  • Write and deploy SQL patches.
  • Upgrade and improve application schema and data upgrades.
  • Proactively make recommendations for system improvements.
  • Collate, prepare, and present statistical information and reports for internal use.

Preferred skill sets:

  • Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and development best practices.
Essential Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 5-6 years of experience required.
  • BE/BTech/MCA/MTech degree qualification.
