Web Application Security Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Web Application Security Specialist to manage security rules and configurations for web applications.

  • Tune web application firewalls (WAFs) to reduce false positives and enable protection against OWASP Top 10 threats.
  • Monitor web traffic anomalies, bot activity, and take preventive actions to ensure the security of web applications.
  • Collaborate with application teams to validate WAF configurations before production rollout and troubleshoot issues as needed.
Requirements:
  • Hands-on experience with Cloudflare WAF or equivalent (e.g., Akamai, AWS WAF)
  • Understanding of web protocols, application headers, and Transport Layer Security (TLS)
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and application security standards
  • Certifications: Cloudflare Certified WAF Practitioner, CEH or GIAC Web Application Defender (GWEB), OWASP Top 10 mastery preferred

Key Responsibilities include:

WAF Policy Management: Tune WAF policies to reduce false positives and protect web applications from OWASP Top 10 threats. Monitor web traffic anomalies and bot activity to prevent security breaches.

Collaboration and Troubleshooting: Work closely with application teams to validate WAF configurations before production rollout and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Security Expertise: Possess hands-on experience with Cloudflare WAF or equivalent, understanding of web protocols, application headers, and TLS, as well as familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and application security standards.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A strong background in web application security and WAF management
  • Experience working with Cloudflare WAF or equivalent
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
