Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Database Administrator to join our team in developing and creating cutting-edge solutions for the healthcare industry. This role will ensure that business operations are well-coordinated and productive by managing processes and coaching people. The area of responsibility for this role is wide and thus requires thorough knowledge of various company processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in daily operations to support business growth.
  • Optimize database performance by streamlining SQL calls.
  • Collaborate with management in setting performance goals and long-term operational plans.
  • Work closely with teams to improve operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement.
  • Experience with SQL and stored routines is essential.
  • Experience working with HA Proxy, ProxySQL, or MaxScale is highly valued.
  • Working knowledge of AWS database technologies like Aurora, RDS is a plus.
  • Monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into key initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with technology team members, external partners, and vendors to provide input on operational activity and strategic goals.
  • Analyze key metrics for day-to-day performance of operations to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
  • Perform technical troubleshooting to diagnose, isolate, and correct data and database issues.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in MySQL management.
  • Experience in configuring HA and clustering solutions.
  • Large scale MySQL deployments.
  • MySQL sharding architecture and techniques.
  • Ability to work with Linux/Unix-based OS environments.
  • MS SQL experience is an asset.
  • Software as a service industry experience is valuable.
  • Cloud experience is desirable.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and professional skills.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency.
  • Ability to solve problems and anticipate customer needs.
  • Organizational skills, including setting priorities and managing multiple tasks.
