Job DescriptionWe are seeking a seasoned leader to spearhead the delivery of SAP functional resources across multiple domains and project management experience.The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing SAP functional resources, as well as a technical background in SAP applications and infrastructure.This role will be responsible for leading the functional delivery of SAP for multiple business units, working closely with IT divisional and shared services leaders to develop and implement IT & business technology strategy/roadmap.The Sr. Manager, IT SAP Functional will oversee SAP functional resources, defining and delivering on SAP operations, providing functional knowledge, system design techniques, methodologies, tools, and standards applied in SAP IT and business environments.Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Developing a team of SAP professionals and navigating within a large IT organization
  • Acting as the main point of contact between Business Units and Groups/Divisions IT for SAP delivery
  • Designing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with key collaborators both within the business and IT
  • Understanding strategic business direction to find opportunities for technology innovation and assist with IT strategy development
  • Facilitating prioritization of SAP projects for the business and advocating for their priority within the division/group
  • Being accountable for the technology portfolio of SAP applications that supports the business, including delivery and support of SAP systems
  • Coordinating and assisting technical/functional efforts of other groups and vendors to ensure effective maintenance and improvements of SAP systems
  • Leading multi-functional delivery, working closely with Functional and business leads
  • Hiring, mentoring, and training employees on SAP functional operations
  • Able to lead major business processes or change initiatives with impact beyond immediate functional field
  • Sets objectives and delivers results with significant impact within wide operational areas
  • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise
  • Leads large projects and initiatives, coordinating SAP functional resources and engaging with other project personnel to ensure business application systems are developed in alignment with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices
  • Provides technical expertise, usually on configuration, analysis, design, and development of SAP operations
  • Provides estimates on SAP functional delivery
  • Cross-team communication and collaboration
  • Oversees and reports to senior leaders and management on status of project efforts, anticipating/identifying issues that inhibit attainment of project goals and implementing corrective actions
  • Participates in cross-time zone discussions and decisions
  • Champions implementation and alignment of IT SDLC processes
Required Skills and QualificationsThe following skills and qualifications are necessary for this role:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with at least 15+ years overall experience in SAP Technical, including 4+ years handling SAP functional resources
  • Good interpersonal and excellent documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently to achieve results but also participate successfully as a great teammate
  • Knowledge of creating and maintaining detailed project plans applying Microsoft products
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Demonstrable experience with project management/delivery/ITIL in a regulated environment
  • Strong analytical skills required, including detailed understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate effectively with diverse group of executives, leaders, and domain experts
  • Ability to lead in a matrixed organization with multiple business partners and IT colleagues
Software RequirementsThe following software is required for this role:
  • SAP ECC 4.7, ECC 6.0, and SAP S/4
  • 15+ years previous SAP functional experience
  • Completed at least 3 full-cycle implementations
  • Experience with S/4 Hana, UI5, and Fiori
  • Strong SAP Technical understanding
  • Experience in several of the following modules: SD/SM, FI/CO, MM/PP, QM
Desired Skills and QualificationsThe following skills and qualifications are desired for this role:
  • Relevant certifications are a plus
  • Knowledge of CRM preferred
  • Knowledge of BI preferred
