Lead Aerospace Business Development

The role of Lead Aerospace Business Development involves leading growth initiatives within the Aerospace & Defense sector. This pivotal position requires an individual with deep industry knowledge, a proven track record in business development, and the ability to forge strategic relationships with key OEMs and Tier 1 vendors globally.

This includes understanding and appropriately positioning company capabilities to potential clients, developing a comprehensive short-term and long-term actionable business plan, complete with investment and resource requirements. The Lead will be instrumental in leading business development efforts from initial introduction to first revenue for the company's aerospace & defense market growth.

Responsibilities
  • Market Analysis and Positioning: Understand and position company capabilities to potential clients.
  • Business Planning: Develop a comprehensive short-term and long-term actionable business plan.
  • Business Development: Lead business development efforts from initial introduction to first revenue.
  • Contract Negotiations: Assume leadership position in contract negotiations between company and customers.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strategic relationships with key OEMs, Tier 1s, and suppliers.
  • Approved Supplier Listings: Create and execute custom strategies to ensure company position on approved supplier listings.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Procurement teams.
  • Organizational Goals: Assist Senior Management in development, implementation, or advancement of organizational goals.

Skill Requirements

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Written and spoken communication skills are essential.
  • Proven Track Record: Proven track record of business development or related commercial success.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills related to the industry.
  • Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain key relationships with OEMs/Tier 1 vendors.
  • Diverse Knowledge: Diverse knowledge in precision CNC machining, tooling, CAD/CAM, and the specific requirements of the aerospace and defense industry.
Qualifications
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry is required.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively within India and overseas is essential.
