Job Description:

This role is for an experienced accounting professional to work in a dynamic environment where they will be responsible for owning and driving month and quarter-end US GAAP Close processes for a legal entity. The successful candidate will have proven experience in end-to-end legal entity ledger accounts close and finalization.

The ideal candidate will lead local statutory audits, including preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with Ind-AS. They will also assess risks over accounts and areas of responsibility, applying judgment to ensure the financial integrity of accounting entries, accruals, and account reconciliations are intact and operating effectively.

The successful candidate will prepare journal entries and maintain account reconciliations consistent with GAAP and corporate accounting policies to ensure close timelines are met. They will research and document company position on technical accounting issues, effectively communicate and present to business partners, and prepare a course of action by various teams to collaborate and address risks/issues.

In partnership with Internal Controls team, they will ensure to maintain robust internal controls of subsidiaries and comply with company policy, leveraging experience with the organization's internal control framework to coordinate ICFR audits and resolve any audit issues.

The role involves supporting compliance and improving processes and internal controls in the area of responsibility, implementing simple workflows where needed. The successful candidate will stay current on evolving Accounting Standards pronouncements and updates under prevailing regulatory bodies in the region.

They will apply professional skepticism and an inquisitive approach to review and analyze general ledger, books of accounts and statutory financial statements for appropriateness and reasonableness of applied accounting principles. The role requires leading and coordinating with various internal stakeholders to timely completion of Internal, ICFR, Interim and Statutory Audits or any other audits from time to time.

The successful candidate will own the compliance activities in accounting, company secretarial, banking and related regulatory compliances. Work closely with the global CAO organization and cross-functional teams to ensure effective compliance with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Owning and driving month and quarter-end US GAAP Close processes for a legal entity
  • Leading local statutory audits, including preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with Ind-AS
  • Assessing risks over accounts and areas of responsibility
  • Maintaining robust internal controls of subsidiaries and complying with company policy
  • Supporting compliance and improving processes and internal controls in the area of responsibility
Requirements:
  • Degree in Accountancy, with mandatory CA/CPA qualification
  • 4-6 years of post-qualification experience in accounting, book close process, direct and indirect tax compliances of a company
  • Experience in end-to-end legal entity level accounts finalization as per IFRS /Ind AS accounting standards
  • Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, withholding tax, regular tax compliance, transfer pricing, CbyC report, GST and other tax compliances
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Ind-AS
  • Analytical thinker who can identify and implement effective processes improvements
  • Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system - preferably experience in Oracle R12
