Job Description:

Our team is currently seeking a Director of Advanced Motor Design to lead the development and optimization of traction motors for specific vehicle performance targets.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in motor electromagnetic design, thermal optimization, as well as experience with motor control algorithm design, simulation, specification, and verification.

The successful applicant will be responsible for performing motor characterization, parameter estimation, tuning, and calibration on a dyno.

Key responsibilities include developing testing plans to validate motor designs, collaborating with mechanical engineers to create motor design drawings and release them to manufacturing, and integrating powertrain systems and vehicle control systems.

Additionally, the incumbent will participate in motor manufacturing development, including material sourcing, supplier engagement, and process development.

Ensuring technical robustness through Worst Case Analysis, Circuit Simulations, DFMEA, and Functional Safety Analysis is also an essential aspect of this role.
