Procurement Leadership Role

A successful Purchase Executive is required to spearhead procurement activities with strong negotiation and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Strategy:
    • Identify and evaluate suppliers/vendors for raw materials, machinery spares, consumables, and services.
    • Negotiate purchases and ensure timely availability of required materials and services.
    • Develop alternate sourcing strategies to guarantee uninterrupted supply.
  • Vendor Engagement:
    • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
    • Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
    • Negotiate contracts, terms, and payment conditions.
  • Supply Chain Management:
    • Issue purchase orders in line with company policies and approvals.
    • Ensure timely procurement of materials as per production schedule.
    • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the stores/warehouse for replenishment.
  • Cost Optimization:
    • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
    • Benchmark prices and identify opportunities for bulk/long-term contracts.
  • Compliance & Record-Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate procurement records (POs, invoices, GRNs, contracts).
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, and audit requirements.
    • Coordinate with finance for vendor payments and reconciliations.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration:
    • Work closely with production, quality, accounts, and logistics teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
    • Resolve material-related issues with suppliers and internal departments.
