Data Engineer Role Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to design, develop and deploy end-to-end data pipelines on AWS cloud infrastructure using services such as Amazon S3, AWS Glue, AWS Lambda and Amazon Redshift.
  • The successful candidate will implement data processing and transformation workflows using Apache Spark and SQL to support analytics and reporting requirements.
  • This role involves building and maintaining orchestration workflows to automate data pipeline execution, scheduling and monitoring.
  • Candidates must be able to collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable data solutions.
  • Ongoing optimization of data pipelines for performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness is also expected, leveraging AWS best practices and cloud-native technologies.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8+ years of experience in building and deploying large-scale data processing pipelines in a production environment.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and building data pipelines on AWS cloud infrastructure is essential.
  • Strong proficiency in AWS services such as Amazon S3, AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Amazon Redshift and strong experience with Apache Spark for data processing and analytics is required.
  • Candidates should have hands-on experience in orchestrating and scheduling data pipelines using AppFlow, Event Bridge and Lambda.
  • A solid understanding of data modeling, database design principles, SQL and Spark SQL is necessary.
