Job Title
Procurement Specialist
- Responsibilities include managing procurement processes, from initial requirements gathering to final delivery of marine equipment and spare parts.
- Develop vendor relationships that ensure timely and cost-effective procurements in line with project and vessel needs.
- Prepare purchase orders, negotiate prices, delivery timelines, and payment terms with suppliers.
- Collaborate with technical, operations, and accounts teams for accurate budgeting and requirement planning.
- Maintain detailed records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels for future reference.
- Ensure compliance with relevant internal policies and external regulations regarding procurement practices.
- Coordinate deliveries, resolve any discrepancies, and monitor supplier performance regularly.
- Stay updated on industry trends, price fluctuations, and supplier capabilities, particularly in the context of marine procurement.
Candidate Requirements
- A graduate degree in any field is preferred, although a diploma will be considered. A background in supply chain management or a related discipline is advantageous.
- The ideal candidate should have 4–7 years of experience in procurement or a similar role, preferably within the shipping, marine, or offshore sectors.
- Strong knowledge of marine equipment, consumables, and supplier networks is essential.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / other procurement platforms) is required.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills are necessary for success in this position.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively is crucial.
