Job Title: Intensive Care Physician Specialist

About the Role:

The Intensive Care Physician Specialist will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to critically ill patients in our ICU. This role requires a strong ability to work under pressure, make sound clinical judgments, and effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage acute conditions under consultant supervision.
  • Monitor patients on ventilators, life support, and other critical interventions.
  • Manage emergencies such as sepsis, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, trauma, and shock according to critical care protocols.
  • Perform critical care procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, arterial line placement, and bedside ultrasound (if trained).
  • Coordinate with consultants, nurses, and technicians for effective patient management.
  • Maintain comprehensive medical records, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Participate in ICU rounds, clinical audits, and academic sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and ICU protocols.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • MBBS with MD/DNB in Internal Medicine / Anaesthesiology / Pulmonology or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 1-2 years of clinical experience in an ICU or Critical Care setting.
  • Certification in BLS and ACLS (FCCS or IDCCM preferred).
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations with sound clinical judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team collaboration.
