Group Operations Team Lead

Purpose:

The Group Operations Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the team's daily activities to ensure seamless processing of new business and end-to-end policy servicing for group business.

Context:

This role works within the Operations Department, focusing on Group New Business & Policy Servicing to provide exceptional customer service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Sales and Actuarial teams for timely closure of individual Group processes.
  • Ensure efficient issuance of policies and resolution of customer and intermediary queries.
  • Deliver a professional and courteous service to intermediaries and customers.
  • Implement and maintain quality and quantity controls to aid proactive management and problem anticipation.
  • Supervise and train an effective team to meet business needs.
  • Coordinate with finance for reconciliation of policy account balance.
  • Lead transformation and digitization of group business.

Requirements & Qualifications:

MBA/ACII with at least 8-10 years' experience in customer services or operations departments. Associate of Insurance Institute as an added advantage.

Key Skills & Knowledge:

  • Good experience in operations within the financial services industry.
  • Experience within the Group Operations department of an insurance company is essential.
  • Data processing expertise to deliver operational efficiency.
  • Computer skills in using databases and office management software, including word processors and spreadsheets.
  • Strong leadership, team building, and influencing skills.
