Job Title: Senior Database Administrator">Database Management and Performance Specialist Job Summary:

As a senior database administrator, you will be responsible for the management and performance of databases. This includes designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available database solutions.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in SQL Server and working knowledge of other RDBMS such as PostgreSQL and MySQL. Strong proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance analysis tools is also required.

This role involves collaborating with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support software releases and schema changes. The successful candidate will be able to automate routine database operations using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements
  • Maintain database security controls including encryption, access controls, and auditing
  • Monitor and optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and storage management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data systems are secure, efficient, and ready for growth

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years of experience in database administration, design, and performance tuning
  • Expertise in SQL Server with working knowledge of other RDBMS
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance analysis tools
  • Experience with HA/DR solutions (e.g., AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Log Shipping, Replication)
  • Solid understanding of database security, compliance, and role-based access control
  • Proficient in automation scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating DB changes into DevOps workflows
