Job Title: Enterprise Database Expert

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced database professional to join our team as an Enterprise Database Expert. This role will be responsible for managing and maintaining mission-critical databases to ensure performance, availability, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute database upgrade projects, including migration from legacy versions to latest SQL Server releases.
  • Design, configure, and manage High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions in production environments.
  • Plan and implement database migrations to cloud platforms with minimal downtime.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance (queries, indexes, statistics, execution plans).
  • Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a database administrator in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience upgrading databases to latest releases in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions and other HA/DR technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud database migration (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or hybrid solutions).
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security.
  • Familiarity with automation tools for database administration is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
