MEP CAD Technician

The MEP CAD Technician will support the design and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) services by preparing accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models. Working closely with engineers, designers, and project teams, the technician will ensure coordinated, detailed, and compliant documentation that supports efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of Detailed Drawings: Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems in AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM).
  • Collaboration with MEP Engineers: Work closely with MEP Engineers and Designers to translate design concepts into coordinated drawings.
  • Compliance with Project Requirements: Ensure drawings comply with project requirements, building regulations, industry standards, and company CAD/BIM protocols.
  • Coordinated Services Drawings: Assist in the development of coordinated services drawings, clash detection, and model updates.
  • Drawing Management: Maintain drawing registers, file management systems, and revision control.
  • Support to Project Teams: Support project teams in producing tender, construction, and as-built drawings.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD: Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential) and Revit MEP/BIM (preferred).
  • Experience in MEP Drawings: Experience in preparing MEP drawings and understanding of building services design.
  • Familiarity with Industry Codes: Familiarity with British Standards, Building Regulations, and industry codes of practice.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Workload Management: Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
Desirable Skills
  • BIM Coordination Tools: Experience with Navisworks, clash detection, or other BIM coordination tools.
