Job Title: Cybersecurity Specialist

About the Role:
  • This is a critical position that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage security threats and incidents.

The ideal candidate will have experience in information security and managing Security Operation Centers (SOCs). They must have a thorough understanding of security principles, best practices, and industry-recognized analysis frameworks such as Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical and functional support to the team with analytical feedback.
  2. Investigate incidents, collect evidence, diagnose issues, recover within defined SLAs, and close incidents.
  3. Understand information security policies and best practices in environments.
  4. Inform management on proactive and reactive actions to ensure adherence to security policy.
  5. Review collected metrics from monitoring systems, be aware of patterns and anomalies, and perform incident response.
  6. Eliminate threats to the network, determine the cause of security incidents while preserving evidence for further analysis, and ensure incidents are handled consistently with established playbooks.
  7. Monitor SIEM and logging for alerts of potential network threats, intrusions, and/or compromises.
  8. Understand the global threat environment and general security best practices.
  9. Assist with triage of service requests from automated sensors and internal requests for assistance.
  10. Participate in active cyber hunting to identify and eliminate known and unknown network threats.
  11. Interface with technical personnel from various disciplines to rapidly resolve critical issues.
  12. Inform leadership of incidents and propose effective responses and/or countermeasures for containment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years' experience in Information Security and 3+ years of experience in managing the SOC.
  • Knowledge of industry-recognized analysis frameworks (Kill Chain, Diamond Model, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST Incident Response, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing Fundamentals, EDR, DLP, Firewall.
  • Thorough understanding of fundamental security and network concepts (Operating systems, intrusion/detection, TCP/IP, ports, etc.).
