Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled database architectural specialist to support our data infrastructure.

This role involves scaling data systems, diagnosing performance issues, and contributing to architectural improvements.

  • Data Architecture & Scalability: Redesign and improve JSON blob storage strategies that have reached scalability limits. Evaluate and optimize complex data structures spanning five core applications.
  • Performance Tuning & Optimization: Analyze and resolve performance issues across PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and Snowflake environments.
  • Refactor inefficient queries and recommend index strategies or schema redesigns.
  • Support and tune Amazon RDS PostgreSQL deployments for high availability and performance.
  • Data Engineering Support: Contribute to the design and maintenance of ETL pipelines that support comparative data loads.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams on pipeline orchestration, transformation, and delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in database administration and performance tuning.

Strong SQL expertise with proven ability to refactor complex queries.

Familiarity with Apache Spark for distributed data processing and dbt for data modeling and transformations.

Experience with Amazon RDS, particularly PostgreSQL, and exposure to AWS Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
