Job Title: Data Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect with expertise in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and architectures on Google Cloud Platform.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, experience with GCP core services, BigQuery expertise, and proficiency in scripting and automation using Python.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Pipeline Design: Develop scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines using GCS, BQ, and Apache Airflow.
  • ETL/ELT Processes: Implement robust ETL/ELT processes using Python and integrate with data orchestration tools like Airflow.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • BigQuery Performance: Optimize BigQuery performance through efficient schema design, partitioning, clustering, and query optimization.
  • Data Lake/Data Warehouse Management: Manage and maintain data lake and data warehouse environments ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Automation/Monitoring: Automate and monitor data pipelines to ensure consistent and reliable data delivery.
  • Architecture Decisions: Contribute to architecture decisions and ensure adherence to data governance and security standards.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in data engineering and cloud usage.

Must-Have Skills:

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • GCP Core Services: In-depth experience with core services like GCS, BQ, IAM, and Cloud Functions.
  • BigQuery Expertise: Expertise in data modeling, performance tuning, and large-scale analytics.
  • GCS Understanding: Strong understanding of data storage, access patterns, and integration.
  • Apache Airflow Experience: Experience in authoring and managing DAGs for complex workflows.
  • Python Proficiency: Proficient in scripting and automation, including working with APIs, data processing libraries, and custom operators in Airflow.

Preferred Qualifications:

The following qualifications are a plus:

  • CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
  • Dataflow/Pub/Sub Exposure: Exposure to Dataflow, Pub/Sub, or other GCP data services.
  • Terraform/IaC Familiarity: Familiarity with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code on GCP.
  • Strong Problem-Solving/Communication Skills: Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • GCP Certifications: GCP certifications are a plus.
